Dazed Four...

Okey dokey, I'll make this quick as we have the Pet Shop Boys crew showing up at any time...  Just prepping the usual coffee, tea & breakfast.  Actually, breakfast has been rather popular with us.  This Zet, understanding what the usual British stage hand needs/wants at 8am, has sorted out a kind Srpski Breakfast Meza.  I'm talking eggs, potatoes, assorted breads, fruit and the kickers; smoked Zlatibor meat and the king of all things 'Serbo food', Cvepaci.  These little meaty sausages are a massive hit with these Anglo Brit Trash, and I say "Brit Trash" out of love as part of my ancestry have a UKesque vibe to it.

So, last night, again, went rather smoothly.  Well, except for the fact that as Billy entered backstage the wall to his dressing room almost fell on him.  Luckily...  Actually not luck, but thanks to my very professional staff, the wall was caught and held in place for the Idol to enter.  & with a touch of duct tape, the most amazing thing a majstor can have, all was good!

I guess the most "interesting" item on Billy's rider was "20 lovely ladies to dance on stage with Billy".  If there is something Exit can sort quit well, its the "ladies" part.  The ladies were placed on stage left and stage right...  A kind female stereo vibe going on.

Any way, Billy was cool & thanks to the energy of the crowd, played his longest set of this tour.  The band and crew were extremely happy with everything and we again got complements that the food and hospitality were the best in Europe so far.  Also got a shout out form one of the tech guys on "really good coffee"!

The coffee part reminds me of HIM.  HIM's rider states that the band likes lots of coffee and tends to smoke a lot (a warning to possible non-smokers backstage).  I greeted HIM's manager and stated; "This is Serbia!  You can pretty much smoke anywhere and cups of coffee grow on trees here!"...  Safe to say they were pretty much happy with that.  & of course the gig.  Never seen so many teenage girls decked out in black (trying to get backstage of course).

The Swedes, Deathstar went olde school Rock'n'Roll...  & that's due to their young age and fairly new entrance to festival rock...  The older "been there done that/them" usually stick to some fine wine and lots of water.  Any way, the Deathstars (BTW great stage name!) killed four bottles of vodka with a case of Red Bull, finished up a keg of beer and then enjoyed, if you can call it "enjoying" after so much mixing, a bottle of cheap and nasty sparkling wine (I thought not to waste a good bottle of Champagne on them at 4am;)  Safe to say, they had a good time.  Actually, such a good time that I found the wallet of Skinny the bass player this morning lodged between an empty Red Bull can and a half eating tortilla wrap, in their dressing room.  I believe he very much appreciated the SMS I sent to him this morning that his credit cards were safe in my hands...  I heard there is a Zara shop in Novi Sad now;)

Ok, Pet Shop Boys crew have arrived.  More 'Dazed at Exit' shortly!
