The Fall of an Empire - cont.

October 20, 2008 (LPAC)--It has become commonplace to blame the U.S., and the U.S. Government, for the financial crisis. One common line, repeated today in an editorial in the Washington Post, is that the "financial panic" was caused in large part by "government's failure to control systemic risks that the government itself helped create." Says the Post: "We'll never know how this newly liberated financial sector might have performed on a playing field designed by Adam Smith."

The truth is that it is the British System--the parasitic Anglo-Dutch Liberal system--that failed. This system of speculative finance is what created the conditions under which the subprime mortgage market developed, and under which the multi-quadrillion-dollar derivatives market developed, and this system which is responsible for the growth, and the demise, of the largest financial bubble in history. Today's financial crisis was made in the City of London.

The U.S. Government does bear significant responsibility here, because it, under the influence of the financier parasites of this British System, systematically stripped the protections painstakingly built into the law under President Franklin Roosevelt. Our government, and our people, were corrupted by the promises of easy money, and we must now deal with the consequences of our failure. But, it is crucial that we understand that the failure was not in the design of our system of government, but in allowing ourselves to be seduced into abandoning our principles in favor of the British model. The solution to this crisis depends not upon the discredited policies of the British Empire's Adam Smith, but in returning to the American System.
