- Akademska perfekcija
- Radoznalost i strast za istraživanjem
I trećeg "monstruma" pozajmljujem od drugih, od I. Berlina:
- Sloboda. Iz zbirke predavanja "Freedom and its Betrayal - Six Enemies of Human Liberty" verbatim, bez neke pažnje i poštovanja prema kontekstu (prosečan esej preko 20 stranica):
1. Helvetius - "We, the enlightened reformers, must not try to convert people by reasoning, because their reason is not powerful enough, in conditions of today, owing to the dreadful misgovernment of the past, to understand what it is that we tell them".
Well now, we cannot have total liberty, because that will lead to anarchy an chaos, we cannot have complete authority, because that will lead to the total curshing of individuals, despotism and tyranny; therefore we must draw the line somewhere between, arrange a compromise..................man is trully free who desires what he is able to perform, and does what he desires..."
3. Fichte - "Man becomes man only among other man....Man is destined to live in society; he must do so; he is not complete human being, he contradicts his own nature, if he lives in isolation.............What we need is a leader; what we need is a man to mould us".
4. Hegel - "... the Emperor - that world soul - I saw him ride through the town...It is realy an odd feeling to see such a personality physically concentrated in a unique point of space, seated on horseback, while his imperious thought roams and radiates over the entire world...".
5. Saint-Simon - "... this is the way in which an army marches, and we are an army, the whole of history is an army..."
6. Maistre - "...man is born to love...Whence comes his divine fury? Is it the earth calling for blood..."
